A coding program called Code on Weekend was organized by Persatuan Mahasiswa Sains Komputer, PERSAKA on 16 and 30 November 2019. Both sessions were held at Makmal Pengajian 1 (MP1) in N28a block. The program was held to expose the participants through various programming skills and programming tools through presentation and discussions led by multiple experts.

The first session started on 16 November 2019 which showcased Machine Learning (ML) conducted by Dr Afnizanfaizal Abdullah. A total number of 20 participants joined to discover the introduction of ML. ML is an application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) that, without explicitly being programmed, uses the experience to learn and improve automatically. Furthermore, Dr Afnizanfaizal exposed a simple coding of an ML system by using Python language. The system reads handwritten numbers, then determines the stated number.

In the second session which was held on 30 November 2019,  Flutter framework was introduced to 18 participants by Mr Mohd Shafiq Irwan bin Mat Yajid, a practical student at Synapse Innovation Sdn. Bhd., and helped by several colleagues of him. The participants were mentored on how to install fundamental software to run Flutter such as Android Studio and Visual Studio Code. Visual Studio Code is where the coding resided, and Android Studio was used to emulate the application which Mr Shafiq taught the participants the basics of Flutter and then tutored on building a simple cake ordering application.

To conclude, the participants were not only exposed to the fundamental of Machine Learning and Flutter but they were also able to bring home a simple Machine Learning system by using Python and a cake ordering system by using Flutter.
