JOHOR BAHRU, 8 February 2015 – UTM Healthy Lifestyle Program was successfully launched at the UTM Stadium  Johor Bahru campus.
The programme aims to foster a culture of healthy lifestyle among the entire UTM community as expressed in the UTM DNA. A healthy lifestyle will optimize mental and physical strength, enabling us to face challenging assignments in our endeavor to advance UTM further. With a healthy body, we would be able to manage stress better, and thus enhance work productivity.

More than 1,000 participants from various UTM Centers of Responsibility (PTJs) took part in an early morning 45-minute exercise program. The group exercise activity will continue to be conducted on a monthly basis with each PTJ taking turns to host the group exercise activity on a rotational basis based on specific zoning areas.
A gymnasium at the UTM Stadium was also officially opened. The gymnasium is equipped with state-of-the-art exercise and bodybuilding facilities, and is open not only to UTM staff but also to the public.
In conjunction with the launching of the UTM Healthy Lifestyle Program, several booths were put up to display information on healthy living. Among the exhibitors that took part were UTM Library, University Health Centre, UTM Sports Excellence Unit, University Counseling Center, Institute of Bio Product Development (IBD) and Organizational Management Division, Office of the Registrar.

The launching ceremony was officiated by Prof. Datuk Ir. Dr. Wahid Omar, UTM Vice-Chancellor. Also present were all the Deputy Vice-Chancellors  and Hj. Wan Mohd Zawawi Wan Abdul Rahman, UTM Registrar, who is also  the Chairman of the Main Committee for the UTM Healthy Lifestyle Program.
This program was successfully organized by the Division of Human Capital Development, in collaboration with the Office of the Registrar, UTM Centre of Sports Excellence and UTM Office of Asset and Development.
