UTM honours top postgraduate achievers in conjunction with the 68th Convocation Ceremony

JOHOR BAHRU, 15th Nov. – Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) honouring its top postgraduate achievers at the prestigious UTM Best Postgraduate Student Award Ceremony.

Held at the scenic Pulai Springs Resort, this grand occasion was among the highlights of UTM’s 68th Convocation Ceremony, which celebrated the remarkable achievements of 189 outstanding postgraduates.

Several graduates stood out for their extraordinary achievements. One of the most coveted recognitions, the MTDC Innovation Excellence Award, was presented to Dr. Nur Syafika Artika Rahim from the Razak Faculty of Technology and Informatics.

Equally notable were the recipients of the Best Student Award for the Faculty of Chemical and Energy Engineering, Dr. Areen Sherryna Abdul Halim. She was lauded for her outstanding academic performance and impactful research contributions.

On the international front, Dr. Zerga Abdel Moumin Yahia (PhD in Environmental Engineering) was celebrated for his exceptional work addressing critical environmental challenges.

In her keynote speech, the Chair of the School of Graduate Studies (SPS), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Noor Hazarina Hashim expressed her pride in the graduates’ accomplishments.

“This ceremony is more than just a celebration; it is a testament to UTM’s unwavering commitment to producing world-class researchers and professionals. Our postgraduate students are the driving force behind UTM’s continuous pursuit of innovation and excellence.

“Each award recipient has demonstrated unparalleled determination and resilience. Their achievements are a source of inspiration for the entire UTM community.

For many, the ceremony was about more than the accolades. It was a chance to reconnect with friends, supervisors, and peers who had been part of their journey. Graduates and their families shared joy, laughter, and even tears as they reflected on the long road to this milestone.
