FTIR and Universitas Merdeka Malang Forge Dynamic Collaborative Ventures

In a significant stride towards fostering international collaboration, the Faculty of Technology and Informatics (FTIR) at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) welcomed a distinguished delegation from Universitas Merdeka Malang, Indonesia, on December 8, 2023. The delegation, comprising Dr. Mardiana Andarwati, Dr. Andini Risfandini, Mr. Galandaru Swalaganata, and Mr. Firnanda A.A. Putra, engaged in discussions aimed at exploring potential avenues for collaboration between FTIR and Universitas Merdeka Malang.

The discussions proved to be highly productive, spanning various areas such as curriculum development, faculty and student exchange programs, research collaboration, and more. The delegation expressed a keen interest in collaborating with FTIR across diverse fields including computer science, engineering, and business.

Dr. Mardiana Andarwati, leading the delegation, expressed her enthusiasm about the potential collaboration, foreseeing its capacity to enhance the academic communities of both institutions. She stated, “We are excited about the opportunity to collaborate with FTIR. We believe that this collaboration will help us achieve our goals of providing quality education and research to our students.” Dr. Andini Risfandini, a member of the delegation, highlighted her specific interest in collaborating with FTIR in the field of computer science. She stated, “We are interested in collaborating with FTIR in the field of computer science. This collaboration will help us develop new technologies and applications that will benefit both institutions.”

Similarly, Mr. Galandaru Swalaganata expressed interest in collaborating with FTIR in the field of engineering, emphasizing the potential for joint technological advancements. Mr. Firnanda A.A. Putra, the final member of the delegation, echoed this sentiment, expressing interest in a collaborative partnership in the field of business to develop innovative business models and strategies.

FTIR reciprocated the enthusiasm, expressing excitement about the potential outcomes of this collaboration. The faculty looks forward to working closely with Universitas Merdeka Malang to achieve shared goals of providing quality education and cutting-edge research to students. Both institutions anticipate the collaborative effort will lead to the development of new technologies, applications, business models, and strategies that will not only benefit the academic community but also the wider society.
