MBC 2018 is inaugural competition organized by MTDC in collaboration with UTM XCITE. Committee members of MBC 2018 involved UTM lecturers from various schools: Dr. Umar Haiyat Abd Kohar (UTM XCITE), Dr. Farrah Merlinda Muharam (AHIBS), Dr. Adriana Mohd Rizal (AHIBS), Dr. Adaviah Mas’od (AHIBS), Dr. Zuraidah Sulaiman (AHIBS), Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Syuhaida Ismail (UTM Razak School of Engineering and Advanced Technology), Dr. Shahrizal Rusli (School of Electrical Engineering).
JOHOR BAHRU, 24 Oct – The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities’ Assistant Dean (External and Global Engagement), Dr Abdullah Mohd Nawi, successfully carried out a workshop for students of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Pasir Gudang. The workshop, entitled ‘Faces of War’ is a signature literature workshop that is designed specifically to enable non-literature students to develop an appreciation for literature, especially a genre of literature that would seem alien to many of them – poetry in English.
The Iskandar Malaysia Beyond Boundaries Programme (IMB2P) and Illustrated Heritage of West Johor Strait coffee table book at Big Wheel, Iskandar Puteri. The launch event was officiated by YB Mohd Khuzzan Abu Bakar, the State Youth, Sports and Culture Committee Chairman and attended by Mr. Michael Chang, Chief Executive Officer of Big Wheel and Mr. Ghazali Bunari, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia senior lecturer (UTM), who is also the Project Manager and author of the West Johor Strait Illustrated Heritage.
This international event aims to provide an opportunity for students and young researchers to get into lectures from various eminent experts within the field of remote sensing, photogrammetry and geospatial information sciences.
QSIC 2018 is an annual event organised by BQSM in collaboration with JKR and CIDB aimed to bring together professionals, practitioners, researchers and scholars from local and abroad to share experiences in Quantity Surveying practices, addresses the latest development and current challenges in fast changing environment.
UTM won the best Booth Award (Silver Award), Academic Excellence Award 2018 (Part 1) and Academic Excellence Award 2018 (Part 2), and won The Most Creative and Innovative (Forth Place) for the PAM Student Multimedia Competition 2018 entitled “The Factory”.
The 4th International Conference of Low Carbon Asia and Beyond (ICLCA 2018) serves as a high‐impact platform inc bringing together researchers and multi‐stakeholders from academia, government and industry in Asia to share their expertise, knowledge and experiences to catalyze the transformation of Low carbon society in Asia and beyond.
The standard enables laboratories to demonstrate that they operate competently and generate valid results, thereby promoting confidence in their work both nationally and around the world.

In conjunction with NALI 2018, the STEMazing Run 2018 was successfully organized by UTMLead on 22 September 2018 which saw over 500 runners participating in the night run. The run was open to the public and spans 5 km (fun run) and 10 km (competitive run) within the UTM Johor Bahru campus.
