JOHOR BAHRU, 24 November 2016 – The Sustainability Centre of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in collaboration with Malaysia Marine & Heavy Engineering (MHB) Holdings and Non-Governmental Organizations, EkoKnights have organized the environmental preservation camp, ‘Knights of Nature ‘, here in UTM Johor Bahru.
The programme that lasted for two days was participated by 40 students from UTM, students of higher education institutions and high school students around Skudai, will carry out various activities including alerting the local community about the importance of keeping the environment clean.
Programme Coordinator, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Fadhil Md.Din said that among the main objectives to be achieved through the implementation of this activity was to increase knowledge about the environment and sustainable living in an environment that is creative and entertaining.
“The participants also had the opportunity to promote sustainable attitude in daily life as well as developing some important behaviour such as teamwork, leadership qualities, time management and problem solving.
“In addition to building positive attitudes that are needed in the workplace, this activity can also produce a set of ‘change agents’ that can ignite the love of the environment to all communities across the country,” he said.
This programme was launched by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Dr. Azlan Abdul Rahman and accompanied by the MHB General Manager, Abdul Haris Mohmat Jaffrie and EkoKnights President Yasmin Rasyid located at the Marine Technology Centre, UTM Johor Bahru.
