On 25-26 March 2019, the Ubiquitous Broadband Access Network Research Group (U-BAN RG), Razak Faculty of Technology and Informatics (RFTI) had received delegates from the Center for Advanced Wireless Technology (AdWiTech), Telkom University(Tel-U), Bandung, Indonesia. The delegates from AdWiTech was led by its Director, Associate Professor Dr. Eng. Khairol Anwar and other team members – Vice Director, Dr. Suryo Adhi Wibowo, one academician and two postgraduate students. The visit was the continuation of the research collaboration between U-Ban and AdWiTech that had started since U-Ban RG team visit to Telkom University on 12 – 14 November 2017.
The visit started with a welcoming speech by the Deputy Dean of Research RFTI Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd. Nazri Kama and presentation by Dr. Eng. Khairol Anwar. Then, the discussion between U-Ban RG and AdWiTech members continued, discussing among others, on the future academic collaboration on international grant application, remote supervision, Letter of Collaboration (LOC) UTM and Tel-U as well as on organizing the 3rdSymposium of Future Telecommunication Technologies (SOFTT) 2019 to be held in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.
On the second day (26 March 2019), the program continued with colloquium and sharing session by the two teams. The colloquium was organised to provide opportunities for the presentations on recent projects and progress on the theme of telecommunication by both academicians and postgraduate students. This colloquium served as a platform in promoting a knowledge-sharing session between these two universities.
This visit was not only beneficial to the students from the Telkom University, Bandung, Indonesia, but it also helped the postgraduate students from RFTI to have a good exposure on the organisation of an academic colloquium, to socialise with new acquaintances, to expand on networking for future research purposes and to have a better understanding about different cultures.
