SHAH ALAM, 15 November 2014 – Dr. Zaleha Abdullah from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) has won the National e-Learning Award at the National University Carnival on E-Learning (NUCEL) 2014 held at Shah Alam Convention Centre (SACC).
Dr. Zaleha won the award under the category of Creative & Interactive (Video Lessons) through the BLOSSOMS project.
Besides the main award, Dr. Zaleha also bagged the Gold Medal for Blended Learning Approach that Helps Develop Teachers and Students Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
She received the prize in the form of a certificate, a trophy and RM1000. In addition, UTM’s booth also the first runner up under the best booth category.
Besides Dr. Zaleha, 36 other UTM researchers also won 14 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze Medals for their projects.
The National University Carnival on E-Learning 2014 (NUCEL 2014) was initiated by the Malaysian Public Universities e-Learning Council (MEIPTA) as a platform to promote, explore, share expertise, and best practices on the application of e-learning within public institutions, private institutions and private companies from all over the country.
The NUCEL 2014 Carnival encompasses three main activities, namely, exhibitions, competitions and recognition and awards for achievements (National E-Learning Awards) in improving the quality of e-learning application.
