JOHOR BAHRU, Jul 1 – The Faculty of Educational Sciences and Technology (FEST), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), successfully organised the Educational Leadership Colloquium and Poster Presentation 2026 on Wednesday, 1 July 2026, at Room C15-411, FEST, UTM Johor Bahru.

The programme brought together postgraduate students and lecturers on an academic platform to foster scholarly discussion, disseminate research and promote professional development in educational leadership.

The colloquium provided Master of Education (Management and Administration) students with an opportunity to present their research ideas and findings through both oral and poster presentations. The event served as a platform for participants to exchange knowledge, receive constructive feedback from peers and lecturers and strengthen their understanding of contemporary issues in educational leadership and management.

The colloquium also featured two insightful sharing sessions that enriched participants’ understanding of educational leadership and management. In the first session, Deputy Registrar of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH), UTM, Dzulhelmi Mohd Razali, delivered a talk titled The Leadership Triad: Mastering Decision Making, Teamworking and Networking highlighting the importance of effective leadership competencies in educational settings.

This was followed by a presentation by Professor of Higher Education Management and former professor at the FSSH UTM, Dr. Hamdan Said, who discussed the application of Organisational Theory and Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a framework to tackle educational issues and challenges, providing participants with contemporary perspectives on addressing emerging challenges in the education sector.

The programme featured a series of poster presentations covering various educational leadership themes, including instructional leadership, authentic leadership, teacher motivation, school supervision, educational policy and leadership practices in Malaysian schools. The presentations highlighted the students’ ability to integrate theoretical perspectives with practical educational issues, demonstrating their commitment to advancing educational research.

According to the organising committee, the colloquium was designed not only to showcase students’ academic work but also to cultivate essential professional competencies, including communication, critical thinking, collaboration and research presentation skills. Through interactive discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions, participants gained valuable insights that will support their future roles as educational leaders and administrators.

The event also reflected UTM’s commitment to nurturing a vibrant research culture and producing graduates who are knowledgeable, innovative, and capable of addressing current educational challenges. By providing an avenue for scholarly engagement, the Educational Leadership Colloquium and Poster Presentation 2026 successfully encouraged postgraduate students to become active contributors to educational transformation and leadership development.

The programme concluded with an appreciation session and group photography, marking another successful academic initiative by FEST in promoting research excellence and strengthening the academic community within the field of educational leadership.
