JOHOR BAHRU, June 26 – Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) has successfully concluded a high-impact academic and industrial delegation visit to Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). Running from 23 to 26 June 2026, the comprehensive four-day international program was hosted by the Biomedical Instrumentation and Electronics Research Group (BMIE RG) from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FKE).
The visiting delegates comprised two senior UII lecturers and eleven undergraduate engineering students eager to expand their academic and professional horizons within the rapidly evolving global technology sector.

The initiative commenced with the UII delegation actively participating in UTM’s Integrated Design Projects (IDP) showcase. During this event, third-year UTM Electrical Engineering students exhibited their innovative engineering prototypes, representing months of rigorous design and teamwork.
The visiting UII lecturers served as key members of the evaluation panels, providing critical peer reviews and constructive feedback to the presenters. This scholarly engagement highlights a long-standing tradition of expert exchange between the two institutions, which routinely share academic talent by serving as external examiners and project panels. Such structural integration deepens institutional trust, aligns international curriculum benchmarks, and sets a firm foundation for future joint research initiatives and academic publications.

The itinerary also provided the undergraduate students, who featured a multicultural mix of international students from Indonesia, Yemen, and Sudan, with robust industrial insights through technical tours of two major manufacturing facilities in Johor. At Beyonics Precision (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. in Kulai, the students attended a comprehensive corporate briefing and an extensive plant tour.
This session provided them with valuable, direct exposure to high-precision electronics manufacturing processes, advanced cleanroom technologies, and strict automated assembly procedures, bridging classroom learning with heavy industry standards.

Additionally, the delegation explored the high-tech production floor and specialized testing laboratories of Multi-Code Electronics Industries (M) Berhad, a leading Tier-1 automotive electronics supplier. A highlight of this industrial visit was an insightful technical presentation from Multi-Code, which shared valuable insights on product development lifecycles. The students observed advanced quality control mechanisms firsthand, including Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), automated End-of-Line testing setups, and specialized photometric laboratories used to validate critical safety components like reverse sensors and vehicle lighting systems.
Complementing the rigorous academic and industrial schedules, the UII delegation experienced local Southern Malaysian culture. They visited the iconic Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, renowned for its incredible, state-of-the-art architecture, alongside historical landmarks across Johor Bahru.
This successful cross-border exchange effectively bridges the gap between theoretical engineering concepts and real-world industrial applications, cultivating global-minded engineers.
