Innotech Future Innovation Summit 2026: Shaping the future through innovation and technology

KUALA LUMPUR, June 27 – The Persatuan Mahasiswa Hindu (PMH) of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Kuala Lumpur, in collaboration with the United Malaysian Hindu Voice (UMHV) and Pepper Labs Sdn. Bhd., proudly organized the Innotech Future Innovation Summit 2026. This full-day premier technology and innovation program was held at Dewan Seminar UTM Kuala Lumpur. The event was attended by 100 students from both within UTM and various external institutions across Malaysia.

A Premier Technology and Innovation Program

Innotech 2026 was a major highlight for PMH UTM Kuala Lumpur, representing the club’s strategic initiative to empower Hindu youth in the fields of Information Technology (IT) and Industry Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0). Despite facing many challenges during the planning and execution stages, the dedicated team managed to deliver a comprehensive multi-track program that proved to be a resounding success.

The accomplishment demonstrates the PMH team’s and its volunteers’ commitment, inventiveness, and perseverance. The program was developed as a strategic effort to bridge the knowledge gap, foster innovation, and provide valuable networking opportunities for students. It was designed to enhance participants’ understanding of emerging technologies, develop critical soft skills and prepare them for future academic and career challenges.

A Dual-Track Learning Experience

In order to secure significant and active participation, the students were divided into groups that rotated through two main modules, ensuring all participants gained comprehensive exposure to both technical and professional aspects of the AI technology.

Students explored

The topics covered include the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning, an introduction to Google Teachable Machine and its applications, real-world case studies of AI implementation in various industries, practical coding exercises to build and test simple AI models, the different types of machine learning, such as supervised, unsupervised and reinforcement learning, as well as the applications of AI in robotics and automation.

The session was highly interactive, delivered by Google-certified instructors from Pepper Labs Sdn. Bhd., and allowed students to experiment with cutting-edge technology. All participants received certificates endorsed by Pepper Labs Sdn. Bhd. and Google upon completion of the training module.

Innovation Forum

The Innovation Forum brought together leading innovators, industry experts, and visionaries to explore emerging trends and breakthroughs in technology and business innovation. Students learned about the future of work, focusing on how AI and automation are reshaping career landscapes, as well as innovation and entrepreneurship strategies for transforming ideas into successful ventures.

Students also learned about building a personal brand by developing essential soft skills for career advancement in the technology industry and networking opportunities with professionals for mentorship and career guidance.

The forum concluded with an engaging Q&A session, where participants actively engaged with the panelists, gaining valuable insights and inspiration for their future endeavours.

Closing and Inauguration Ceremony

The closing and inauguration ceremony was a grand success, thanks to the leadership of the organising committee and the presence of notable guests. Among them was Ts. Dr. Sathiabama T. Thirugnana, Advisor of the PMH Club and UTM Kuala Lumpur, praised the program for its relevance to undergraduate students exploring new technologies and commended the student body for their initiative.

She also strongly recommended the program for students exploring new technology in AI, noting that the program cost was fully covered by the NGO.

UTM Student-Led Diversity and Teamwork

The success of Innotech 2026 was made possible by a diverse team consisting of volunteers and crew from different faculties and ethnic backgrounds, all contributing to the making of the programme. The team spoke about the inclusive and united nature of UTM students, demonstrated in their involvement in delivering educational initiatives that had a great impact.

The program’s success was largely due to the expertise and constant support of Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Shreeshivadasan Chelliapan and Dr. Sathiabama, to whom we give our profound gratitude. Through Innotech 2026, students from all over the country were successfully motivated and given the opportunity to learn about AI, machine learning and technology innovation in a very practical way, besides developing creativity, confidence and team spirit.

PMH UTM Kuala Lumpur has set a new standard in student-led Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and technology outreach, proving that with the right determination, vision and teamwork, nothing is impossible.
