KUALA LUMPUR, Mar 15 – The Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) International Ramadan Outreach event, held at the People’s Housing Program (PPR) Desa Rejang, was a heartwarming celebration of community, generosity, and knowledge-sharing. This event, organized in collaboration with the International Students Society Kuala Lumpur (ISSKL), exemplified the values of compassion and generosity. Aligning with the spirit of Ramadan, it provided UTM students the opportunity to give back to the community while strengthening bonds of unity and understanding among people from diverse backgrounds.
At the heart of the event were the generous contributions made by UTM to 20 deserving families from PPR Desa Rejang, a gesture that was deeply appreciated by the local community. Volunteers not only provided aid but also engaged with children and residents in various educational and fun activities.
“We are truly grateful for the contributions and support extended by UTM and its volunteers. The presence of each of you today signifies more than just the distribution of aid; it serves as a reminder of the strength and unity our community can foster when we come together in times of need. Thank you to all the recipients and volunteers for your kindness and efforts in making today meaningful,” expressed Mohd. Nor Md. Tahir, Chairman of Neighborhood Watch Area (KRT) PPR Desa Rejang during his welcoming speech.
Additionally, Prof. Madya Ts. Dr. Nur Azaliah Abu Bakar, Deputy Director of UTM International Kuala Lumpur, stated, “I would like to express my deepest appreciation to everyone who played a part in ensuring the success of today’s program. This initiative represents UTM’s commitment to sharing not only resources but also knowledge and compassion with the community. Our international students have gained firsthand experience of how different cultures can live harmoniously in a shared space. We believe that through education and interaction, we can inspire young minds to pursue dreams and ambitions beyond their boundaries. Thank you to all those who worked tirelessly to make this event a reality.”
The event featured educational workshops in English and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), allowing international students to actively bridge cultural gaps and inspire local youth to pursue higher education, both locally and abroad. These engaging sessions were fully managed by international students, led by Ruk Sadaquat, the Vice President of ISSKL, who ensured the activities were educational and enjoyable.
Through thoughtful contributions, acts of kindness, and mutual respect, the UTM International Ramadan Outreach program proved to be a successful example of community-building and knowledge-sharing, positively impacting the lives of all involved.
