AHIBS Hosts Erasmus+ REPESEA Final-National Conference and Publication Workshop: Assessment of Current and Quality of Research in Academic Environment

The main objective of the conference is to present the results of ERASMUS REPESEA research project “Assessing and Improving the Quality and Impact of Research at South East Asian Universities (REPESEA). UTM, as one of the research partners, has been actively involved and contribute to the success of this project. Thus UTM would like to ensure that this conference could precipitate further discussion on the way forward to enhance the state of arts related to the measurement of research quality and impact, particularly in Malaysia. This conference is also aimed to bring together academics, policymakers as well as respective industry players who have been critical stakeholders of the research eco-system in Malaysia.

UTM Researchers Promote Science and Technology for Disaster Resilience in Malaysia

The Selangor State Government, group of researchers from the Disaster Preparedness and Prevention Center (DPPC) of the Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), International Research Institute of Disaster Science (IRIDeS), Tohoku University, City of Sendai, Japan and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) launched a publication on landslide and flood risks in the state of Selangor. the publication explains the science behind landslide and flood events so that local authorities, community leaders, and the community at large can better understand the risks they are facing. With this understanding, they can take action towards better preparedness or mitigation measures from the effects of landslide and flood disasters.

UTM dan MBDA Anjur Program Amal Fesyen Santun Untuk Perkasa Pereka Bumiputera dan Promosikan UTM

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) dan Persatuan Pereka Bumiputra Malaysia (MBDA) telah menganjurkan pertunjukan ‘Fesyen Santun’ dalam usaha untuk mengetengahkan hasil rekaan pereka bumiputera tempatan serta mempromosi UTM sebagai sebuah universiti yang peduli atas keperluan pihak berkepentingan dan masyarakat sekeliling. Antara objektif Majlis Fesyen Santun ini adalah untuk memperkasa inisiatif penjanaan kewangan UTM bagi membantu pelajar kurang berkemampuan dari kelompok B40 di mana sebahagian dari hasil jualan amal dan lelongan produk jenama pereka yang terlibat akan disumbangkan ke Tabung Endowmen UTM. Antara pereka yang mengambil bahagian ialah Qamila Amran, Hasfitri Yusof, Pua Borneo, Azhar Zainal dan Cik Daeng Hamizah binti Abd Aziz (DHamizah Bawal Exclusive).
