PLOS ONE is distinguished by rigorous professional peer review, the consideration of a diverse range of articles from science and medicine, and Open Access: making science freely available to the public. PLOS ONE is now one of the world’s largest journals. The Impact Factor of this journal is 3.240, ranking it 26 out of 73 (Q2) in Multidisciplinary Sciences.

Thousands of academic experts from around the world serve on the PLOS ONE Editorial Board. The Editorial Board comprises working scientists who are the principal investigators/group leaders with a long track record of publication.
