The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH) of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) had organized the 6th International Social Sciences Postgraduates Conference (ISPC) 2019 on 3 Dec. 2019 in Johor Bahru.
The ISPC 2019 was officiated by the Dean of FSSH, Prof. Dr Zaidatun Tasir at the Le Grandeur Hotel, Senai, Johor Bahru. Also attending the ceremony were Senior Lecturer and General Chair of 6th ISPC 2019, Dr Hasnah Mohamed, and Programme Director of ISPC 2019, Talhah Ajmain.
Dr Hasnah who was met after the launching ceremony told that the two-day ISPC 2019 conference aimed to provide an opportunity to create innovative leaders with new talents in the field of social sciences and humanities.
“Apart from that, ISPC 2019 also hopes that through this platform, all participants may disseminate the latest information regarding the development of social sciences and humanities research and provide opportunities for researchers to share and exchange ideas, experiences and resources in this particular field.
“Two keynote speakers from UTM namely Assoc. Prof. Dr Ummur Khair Ahmad and Assoc. Prof. Dr Hashim Fauzy Yaacob were invited to share their insights regarding the latest trend of research in the field of social science,” said Dr Hasnah.
Dr Hasnah said that two workshops were also held by the experts in the field of social sciences such as Dr Rohaya Talib and Dr Aqeel Khan.
“Dr Rohaya conducted a workshop in instruments development while Dr Aqeel Khan shared his experience and expertise in paper publication.
“Both the workshops have given great exposure to the participants to further improve their quality of research in the social sciences field. Besides the locals, the 6th ISPC of 2019 also received a number of participants from various countries such as Indonesia, Nigeria and Pakistan,” she said.
As the General Chair of ISPC 2019, Dr Hasnah hoped that this conference can stimulate conversations and ideas that will enrich the transformation of effort and continue the determination and resolution in striving towards strengthening the higher education.
“The 6th ISPC 2019 has successfully integrated all components of social sciences and humanities in one place to assist researchers who are postgraduate students, lecturers and scholars in raising their knowledge levels in the scope of education, human resource development, Islamic civilization and language.
“Through this conference I sincerely hope that participants will gain rich experience, knowledge and insight in social sciences and humanities research,” said Dr Hasnah.
