The Innovation Centre in Agritechnology for Advanced Bioprocessing (ICA) held its second research symposium at the Convention Centre in Pagoh Higher Education Hub on 19th November 2019 in Pagoh. The 2nd ICA Research Symposium (ICARS) 2019 was organized by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, in collaboration with the Malaysian Ministry of Education, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, International Islamic University Malaysia and Politeknik Tun Syed Nasir at the Pagoh Higher Education Hub.

UTM in collaboration with MCMC, ARM, Celcom Axiata Berhad and Ericsson Malaysia hosted the ASEAN Makerthon 2019 from 02nd to 04th December 2019 at the UTM-Ericsson 5G Innovation Center (IC5G) in UTM Kuala Lumpur campus. The three-day event was the first to launch Makerthon using a closed-source 5G network.
Innovation Centre in Agritechnology for Advanced Bioprocessing (ICA), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Pagoh had received The Malaysian Good Practice Agriculture Practices (MyGAP) certification presented by Mr. Rosdin Kimin, Agriculture Officer from Muar District Agriculture Office on 3rd December 2019.
A coding program called Code on Weekend was organized by Persatuan Mahasiswa Sains Komputer, PERSAKA on 16 and 30 November 2019. Both sessions were held at Makmal Pengajian 1 (MP1) in N28a block. The program was held to expose the participants through various programming skills and programming tools through presentation and discussions led by multiple experts.
Dr Wan Mohd Zakri bin Wan Abdullah, a Senior Lecturer from the Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying (FABU) makes the university’s proud by bagging one gold (long jump senior veteran category) and one bronze (high jump senior veteran category) in the recently concluded National MAKSAK Athletics Tournament 2019 which was held at the MSN Mini Stadium, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur from 19-22 December 2019.
UTM-EXCITE organised SEMS 2.0 on the 3rd of December 2019. The purpose of this program is to embed the innovation and entrepreneurship culture among the students. This approach will provide an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their innovative ideas in solving the current issues stated in the sustainable development goals.
