UTM Faculty of Engineering hosted a talk on EURAXESS funding on 24 April 2019 at Kejora Seminar Hall, School of Computing. The talk was delivered by Dr. Susanne Rentzow-Vasu, Regional Representative of Euraxess ASEAN. The talk focused on Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research And Innovation Staff Exchange Opportunities with particular attention to the upcoming MSCA-IF call targeted for post-doctoral applicants.

Participants of the event came from research group (RG) representatives, centre-of-excellence (CoE) members and post-doctoral fellows. In total, there were more than 60 participants turned up to this short talk. They consisted of diverse fields of engineering schools in UTM such as Civil, Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Biomedical and Computer Science. The event exhibited the collaboration since the launch of synergy by the university last year. The event intended to expose seasoned as well as new researchers towards the availability of grants offered by Euraxess.

Dr. Rentzow-Vasu with Organizing Committee and Some Participants

The event surely broadened the view of UTM’s Faculty of Engineering academic staffs and postgraduate researchers. The event not only can be considered as awareness program regarding Euraxess grants, but this very event was one of the first gatherings attended by all six schools post synergy implementation. The organizing committee under the stewardship of Prof. Dr. Naomie Salim, the Deputy Dean (Research & Innovation) Faculty of Engineering hopes that this event will yield fruitful results, especially in terms of fund granted to UTM from Euraxess.
