UTM Volunteer Club conducts ‘Let’s Cheer Up Our School’ programme

The collaboration between Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Volunteer@UTM club, the Biomedical Club of UTM (BIOMEHS) and the architects Club of UTM (Architech) had successfully conducted the ‘Let’s Cheer Up Our School’ programme. The programme was carried out at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT) Ladang Rini, Skudai with the involvement of 30 UTM Volunteers.
The Programme Director, Noor Nadia Aqilla Noor Affendi said that this programme was set to help the Malaysian Government and the Ministry of Education (MoE) to cultivate Four New Moral Values among school students.
“The Four new moral values that have been introduced by MoE are love, humane, happiness and mutual respect.
“We would like to do our part in contributing to the society in terms of volunteering and social services,” said Noor Nadia Aqila.
Noor Nadia said that through this activity, several objectives can be achieved such as cultivating new MoE moral values through mural painting.
“It was meant to establish a closer bond  between the volunteers and the school and to cultivate cooperation spirit among the volunteers.
“At the same time, we are also applying the MoE’s new moral values among volunteers, students, teachers and  the society and also establishing the spirit of patriotism and helping the government in shaping better generations in the future,” said Noor Nadia.
About 60 UTM students took part in the mural painting activity and did some cleaning at the school compound. The SRJKT Counselling teacher, Sulaiman Moiden and ‘Guru Penolong Kanan 1’ of SRJKT Ladang Rini, Mrs. Piramila Krishnasamy also attended the programme.
