JOHOR BAHRU, 14 April 2015 – A strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was forged between Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) with the Malay Chamber of Commerce Malaysia Johor (DPMMNJ) to enable collaboration in commercializing university research products on a sustainable basis.

DPMMNJ is an organization that was established specifically to protect the interest of the Malays in the field of business.

The two parties have agreed to forge cooperation in Halal Product Development, Halal Hub, as well as Incubator and Entrepreneur Development Programmes. Collaboration between the two parties also involves various aspects in terms of consultation, research and development, training and other related activities.

It is hoped that the alliance between UTM and DPMMNJ will not only enhance UTM R&D activities, but would also result in R&D initiatives that address current needs and demands of both Industry and community.

The MoU was signed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof Dr Azlan Abdul Rahman and DPMMNJ was represented by its Timbalan Yang Dipertua, Tuan Hj. Syed Mohamed Syed Salim.

Also present at the signing ceremony was Datuk Syed Ali Mohamed Al-Attas, President of DPMM.
