On 11th November 2024, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FKE) successfully hosted the FKE Industry 2024 at the P19a foyer. The event showcased 13 booths from various industries and 19 booths from Research Groups and Centres of Excellence (CoE), serving as a dynamic platform to bring together academia, industries, and students.
The event drew participation from nearly 90 industry and faculty professionals who explored new opportunities for collaboration. Exhibitors leveraged the occasion to showcase their cutting-edge technologies and highlight their achievements. Faculty staff also seized the opportunity to initiate discussions on potential research collaborations and consultancy projects. More than 400 students, comprising final-year and postgraduate students, attended the event, gaining immersive experiences through interactive demonstrations of novel technologies and exploring diverse career pathways.
The event was officiated by Professor Jafri Din, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. Following the opening, Dr. Sabrinah Adam, Deputy Director of the Centre for Community and Industry Network (UTM CCIN), delivered a thought-provoking talk titled “Building a Strategic Partnership UTM-Industry.” The agenda continued with insightful presentations from participating industries, offering students valuable perspectives on industry trends and opportunities.
In the afternoon, the event featured job interview sessions conducted by participating companies, with around 100 students seizing the opportunity to engage with potential employers. Adding a special touch, the Homecoming High Tea was held to welcome 50 distinguished alumni members of the faculty, fostering meaningful connections and celebrating their achievements.
The FKE Industry 2024 was a resounding success, creating pathways for collaborations across research, satellite labs, consultancy, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. It exemplified the faculty’s commitment to fostering partnerships that benefit academia, industries, and alumni. The connections forged during the event are expected to strengthen further with the continuous dedication and support of both universities and industries, paving the way for impactful collaborations in the future.
