ISKANDAR PUTERI, June 17 – The Klinik Potensi Bakat Sukan Kanak-Kanak KEMAS Parlimen Iskandar Puteri took place successfully from June 16 to 17, 2025, at the Gelanggang Futsal in Hutan Bandar Mutiara Rini, Johor Bahru. This two-day event attracted over 250 preschoolers from KEMAS kindergartens in the Iskandar Puteri parliamentary district. The program was designed to introduce young children to sports in a fun and engaging manner. Additionally, it served as an early screening platform for assessing physical and motor skills development.

The event was officiated by YB Datuk Haji Pandak Ahmad, the State Assembly Member (ADUN) for Iskandar Puteri. In his opening remarks, Datuk Pandak highlighted the significance of early talent identification and holistic child development. “This program is a meaningful effort to identify early sports talent among children while instilling values such as teamwork, discipline, and healthy living,” he stated. “It also exemplifies how collaboration between universities and the community can foster a stronger, more active future generation.”

The program featured inspiring special appearances by Ahmad Aysar Hadi Mohd Shapri, captain of Johor Darul Ta’zim FC II, and Noor Azilah Aziz, a prominent player from Johor Jewels. Both athletes actively engaged with the children during sports sessions, sharing their experiences and encouraging young participants to pursue active and healthy lifestyles.
Organised by final-year students from the Faculty of Educational Science and Technology (FEST) at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), the event was part of two academic service-learning courses: SHPR 4942: Service-Learning in Physical Education and Sports Science and SHPP 4043: Bina Insan Guru. These courses are designed to promote real-world engagement by allowing students to plan, manage, and implement community-based educational programs.

Children participated in a variety of age-appropriate activities, including sports clinics for futsal, netball, and athletics, as well as creative movement workshops and motor skills evaluations. These activities were designed not only to introduce the fundamentals of sports but also to promote physical literacy and social interaction within a structured and supportive environment.
The program was organised in collaboration with KEMAS Parlimen Iskandar Puteri, the Iskandar Puteri City Council (MBIP), and Yayasan Penyayang Iskandar Puteri. This partnership allowed students to gain practical teaching experience while making meaningful contributions to community development.

The event concluded with a final group photo and the presentation of certificates, marking the successful completion of a program that exemplified the spirit of experiential learning and university-community engagement.
