SKUDAI, Nov 15 — The International Student Society (ISS) Yemen, in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) International and ISS Egypt, has successfully launched the AI & Python Bootcamp, a one-month immersive training programme aimed at equipping students with essential skills in Python programming and the fundamentals of artificial intelligence (AI).
The initiative reflects UTM’s ongoing commitment to nurturing digital talent, enhancing global competencies, and supporting innovation-driven learning among international students. Open to participants with little or no prior programming experience, the bootcamp provided a structured and inclusive learning environment that guided students from basic programming concepts to the development of practical, real-world applications.
Python, one of the most widely used programming languages globally, was selected as the core language due to its simplicity, versatility, and relevance across multiple industries. Participants were introduced to Python applications in data analysis, automation, web development, and AI-based problem-solving, enabling them to understand how coding skills can be applied across academic and professional settings.
Over the four-week programme, students took part in interactive lectures, guided coding sessions, and hands-on projects designed to strengthen problem-solving abilities and logical thinking. The curriculum progressively introduced key programming principles, allowing participants to write efficient and readable code, automate routine tasks, and build small-scale AI applications. Emphasis was also placed on the ethical and sustainable use of technology, aligning with UTM’s values and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Beyond technical knowledge, the AI & Python Bootcamp served as a platform for cross-cultural collaboration and innovation. Participants from diverse backgrounds worked together, exchanging ideas and perspectives while cultivating teamwork and communication skills. The programme encouraged students to embrace values such as integrity, sustainability, excellence, and synergy, principles that resonate strongly with UTM’s educational philosophy.
By the end of the bootcamp, participants demonstrated a solid foundation in Python programming and a basic understanding of AI concepts, positioning them for further learning and future career opportunities in technology-related fields. The programme also contributed to global development objectives by promoting quality education, enhancing employability, and supporting the growth of sustainable and knowledge-based communities.
With strong support from ISS Yemen, ISS Egypt, and UTM International, the AI & Python Bootcamp represents a meaningful step toward empowering students with future-ready skills. Encouraged by the positive outcomes and enthusiastic participation, the organizers expressed confidence that similar initiatives will continue to be introduced, further strengthening UTM’s role as a hub for innovation, international collaboration, and student development.
