JOHOR BAHRU, Aug 24 – The much-anticipated English Immersion Program (EIP) 2025 was held from 22 to 24 August 2025, promising students of Johor Engineering Matriculation College (KMKJ) Pontian, an unforgettable three-day experience filled with language practice, teamwork, and university exploration. Organised by MyLinE Taskforce, Language Academy, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH), the program was designed to create a supportive environment where students can use English confidently outside the classroom while enjoying engaging activities. This was the second year such a program was organised with the collaboration between MyLinE Taskforce and KMKJ.
The program began on Friday evening with students’ arrivals and housekeeping briefings. The highlight of the night is the ice-breaking session, where participants were introduced to the facilitators, who were UTM students from various faculties through fun games and interactive activities. This session set the tone for the weekend by encouraging students to mingle, break down barriers, and start communicating in English freely.
Saturday morning kicked off with an aerobic dance session to energize the participants before a hearty breakfast. This was followed by team-building games designed to build trust, strengthen collaboration, and boost students’ confidence in speaking English in groups. Then, students took part in a lively Treasure Hunt that spanned across various university landmarks including the library, helipad, and Industry Pavilion. Teams worked together to solve clues, complete challenges, and race to the finish line while using English when communicating with their peers and facilitators.

The much-awaited Cultural Night was the highlight of the program. With the theme “Viral Social Media Content”, and P. Ramlee movie snippets, participants showcased their creative performances inspired by popular online trends, as well as translating P. Ramlee’s dialogue to English. Skits, songs, and videos brought laughter and energy to the evening, all while encouraging students to express themselves in English through performance and storytelling.
On the final day, Sunday, the program continued with interactive activities designed to keep participants engaged, followed by “Let’s Update!”, a reflective session where students shared their experiences and what they had learned throughout the program. The weekend concludes with a closing ceremony and group photo session, marking the end of a memorable journey before students head back to KMKJ.
With its mix of games, interactions, and language practice, the EIP 2025 is more than just an academic program. It is an avenue for students to grow, connect, and gain confidence in using English beyond the classroom.
