The Faculty of Management’s (FM) first-year students demonstrated their research excellence at the ASEAN Macro Research Adventure (AMRA’24). This symposium, orchestrated by Dr. Yogeeswari Subramaniam and her team from the Department of Management & Technology, aimed to blend research-based teaching into student learning experiences.
Participants presented insightful extended abstracts and visually engaging posters, focusing on macroeconomic analyses of ASEAN countries. Esteemed panelists included Dr. Fatin Nur Hidayah Taib Khan from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) and Dr. Umra Waris from the Institute for Art and Culture (IAC), Lahore, Pakistan.
Two groups received accolades for their outstanding extended abstracts, each winning RM100. The projects “Does the Phillips Curve Exist in Malaysia?” by Dexter Lim Jin Hao, Lim Jia Jun, Ng Xin Jie, Ng Yan Sheng, and Tew Wei Jie, and “Does Food Inflation Cause Poverty in Malaysia?” by Alban Teo Chen Fong, Soh Yong Sheng, Chong Xiang Fatt, Gavin Lee Qi Han, and Tan Kuan Yi impressed the judges with their compelling research questions.
In the poster category, “Digitalization and Food Security in Malaysia” by Puteri Elysa binti Zahrul Hardi, Humaira Nur Jehan binti Yusri, Nur Nabilah Nasuha binti Cik Bhakri, Muzan Badreldin Abdein Sati, Nurul Adila binti Mohd Nizar, and Sayed Hassan Torabi, along with “Does Food Import Lead to High Food Inflation in Malaysia?” by Ainol Musfirah binti Rahmat, Nur Fatin Najibah binti Ahmad Fazal, Nurfaizatul Anessa binti Ahmad Suardi, Nur Hidayah binti Kamaruddin, and Nurul Natasha binti Abdullah, were each awarded RM50 for their innovative presentations.
