FUKUOKA, JAPAN, Feb. 2 – Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Kyushu University, Japan, have entered into an agreement to offer a Dual Degree for a Master’s program in Mechanical Engineering.
The journey towards this collaborative effort began in the 3rd quarter of 2022 when UTM was extended the privilege of becoming the 4th member of the prestigious Campus Asia Consortium, representing ASEAN countries.
The double (dual) degree program is one of the flagship activities within the Campus Asia Plus Consortium, a collaborative effort uniting Kyushu University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Pusan National University, and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. This partnership signifies a harmonious synergy of academic excellence and cultural diversity, transcending geographical boundaries to provide our students with a truly global educational experience.
In his speech, Assoc. Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Zaini Ahmad expressed deep honor for UTM and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering to be part of the consortium.

This collaboration is not merely about academic achievements but also about fostering international understanding and cooperation. By joining hands with Kyushu University, we are not only enriching the educational experiences of our students but also building bridges between our institutions, fostering goodwill, and strengthening our strategic partnership with public universities around the world.”
The dual degree will focus on Master of Science (Mechanical Engineering) and is offered beginning March 2024.
