.Johor Bahru, April 11, 2023 – Kolej Tun Razak organised a memorable event on Tuesday, as more than 230 college residents, alongside 20 orphans and underprivileged children, and their guardians from Pusat Pengajian Al Quran An Najm and Pusat Pertubuhan Kebajikan An-Nur, gathered to celebrate a heartwarming Ramadan Iftar at Dewan Tun Rahah, Kolej Tun Razak.
The primary objective of this iftar was to foster a sense of unity and brotherhood among the campus community while extending support to 20 orphans and Asnaf children from Pusat Pengajian Al Quran An Najm and Pusat Pertubuhan Kebajikan An-Nur. With the collective efforts of all involved, the event aimed to make a significant impact on the lives of those who are less fortunate.
Programme advisors Iffah and Syakir Farhan shared their aspirations for the event, stating, “Through collaborative efforts, we hope to touch the lives of individuals who are less fortunate and make a lasting difference.”
The evening commenced with a Tazkirah, a spiritual reminder, delivered by Ustaz Dr. Talhah Bin Jima’ain, an esteemed officer from the Islamic Center. Following the Tazkirah, the attendees broke their fast with dates and delicious Malay kuihs generously provided by Saudagar Kurma and Ratu Kuih JB. The Maghrib prayer was then performed, after which a delightful dinner was served.
The program also emphasized the concept of ibadah, or worship, through acts of charity. Individual donations were made through the distribution of Duit Raya, monetary gifts traditionally given during the festive season, to the orphans and Asnaf children. Prof. Dr. Shamsul Bin Sahibuddin, UTM’s Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student Affairs), was also present to personally deliver the Duit Raya and contributions, symbolizing the university’s commitment to supporting the community.
This heartwarming event brought together a diverse group of individuals, fostering a sense of togetherness and compassion during the holy month of Ramadan. Kolej Tun Razak’s initiative to organize such an impactful iftar demonstrated the power of unity and the importance of caring for those in need.
