The Signing Ceremony of Partnership Agreement between IBD UTM and Sateera Biontech Sdn. Bhd.

On 17 November 2021, a Signing Ceremony of a Partnership Agreement between Sateera Biontech Sdn. Bhd. and Institute of Bioproducts Development (IBD), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) researchers was organized at IBD for a trilateral cooperation framework.

The event, which was held at IBD was officiated by the Chair, Health & Wellness Research Alliances of UTM, Assoc. Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Roshanida Abd Rahman, IBD Director, Prof. Dr Hesham Ali El-Enshasy and Executive Director Sateera Biontech Sdn. Bhd., Dato’ Loh Shin Siong.

Also present in the ceremony were the CEO of Sateera Biontech Sdn. Bhd., Mr. Skyler Loh Kok Shen and other representatives from both organizations. With the awarded of three projects lead by Prof. Dr. Hesham Ali-El Enshasy, Dr. Nur Izyan Wan Azelee and Dr. Nor Hasmaliana Abd Manas, IBD is focusing in developing innovative products for women health and wellness, together with the development of prebiotic drinks.

As women’s health has become an urgent priority, global public-private cooperation and collaboration need to occur in policy, practice, education, and research. In order to tackle these global issues, this signing ceremony also featured the launch of “Technological Platform Products for Women in Health Care and Functional Food Product” under the Cosmeceutical & Fragrance Unit (IBD) coordinated by Dr. Nor Izyan Wan Azelee.

This platform is the commitment of IBD and Sateera Biontech Sdn. Bhd. to promote healthcare and well-being programs for women by enhancing their access to knowledge at local, regional, national, and international levels.

As part of its goal to spearhead R&D&C&I, IBD provides a supporting platform for industries to have industrial research with the institute and licensing its own product and technology for the benefits of research to society. IBD is most known as a world-class industrial research institute with more than 100 indexed publications along with more than 20 actives international MoUs and more 15 awarded contracts research every year.
