The bi-annual UTM Pagoh Open Day is the premier event of the 2019 calendar held at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) – Pagoh on 20th November 2019.
Over two hundred school pupils attended “ICA Open Day@UTM Pagoh 2019” that involved a variety of activities such as “Knowledge transfer: Fun with Science & Exhibition”, “ICA sales and Exhibition”, car boot sales, “pick and pay”, cooking demo and etc.This event aimed to promote their great interest and experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education. The young students from schools across Muar, Johore got the chance to meet lecturers, researchers and industry members at the event held together with the collaboration of Universiti Tun Hussein Onn (UTHM) Pagoh, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Pagoh, and Tun Syed Nasir Polytechnic (PTSN) Pagoh.
All in all, the local community who has been to the open day have expressed their positive feedback and was overwhelmed with the various exhibitions and hands-on activities provided. The general public is out in their numbers, milling around and purchasing from the wide variety of products that are on sale. The organic vegetables were the best sellers and the public had experience ‘pick and pay’ for their favorite vegetable. There was also a cooking demonstration with local organic vegetables generating a lot of the public interest.
