Staff of Department of Quantity Surveying, Faculty of Built Environment & Surveying successfully completed a 3-day training on Glodon Cubicost Basic Training: Cubicost Takeoff for Architecture and Structure (TAS) and Cubicost Takeoff for Rebar (TRB) software. The newly procured Cubicost BIM suite software consists of four individual BIM-based software products (TAS, TRB, TME, TBQ) focusing on different needs of the quantity surveying practice. The products virtually cover all the general requirements in construction measurement, documentation and cost estimation practice. Additionally, the software enables the BIM model and related data to be easily transferred between the four products with the aim to produce the most professional, efficient and accurate BIM cost estimation experience. The training commences on 5th August until 7th August at Makmal Komputer Ukur Bahan, B11, FABU attended by 15 quantity surveying staff. The training was conducted to equip the staff with updated information technology in construction measurement, documentation and estimation to be applied in their teaching and learning exercise. This is in lieu with the 4th IR Curriculum Education Ready aspiration. The products by Glodon have been widely used in such three major sectors as house building, industrial engineering and infrastructure, and adopted by such eight types of clients as owners, design institutes, builders, consultants, material suppliers, property companies, colleges and governments. The next training for Cubicost TBQ and MAGICAD will be conducted next month from 2nd September until 6th September 2019.
