The Master of Architecture students and lecturers from Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying, UTM won top prizes for two out of six shortlisted projects in the postgraduate categories from the last final edition of PAM-ZSR Architecture Prize Competition 2019 hosted by Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM) in collaboration with Z&SR Architecture Ventures Sdn Bhd.
Sustainable Environmental Assembly (SUTERA) 2020 was successfully organised by the Society of Landscape Architecture (EARTH) from 13th to 15th January 2020. This program provided an intellectual seminar and activities dedicated to the staff of Pejabat Harta Bina (PHB) UTM, Kuala Lumpur.
KL GEOHYDRO 2019 was the first programme held in Kuala Lumpur and will be a yearly event. Primary objective are to review the current trends in hydrographic education, practice, research and development corresponds to the programme theme itself that is “Empowering Marine Knowledge Through Hydrography”.
12 property companies participated in students’ interview programme organised by Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying, UTM on 12th December 2019. The objective of the program was to give prospect for UTM real estate students to be hired by real estate companies as well as to increase the employment rate.
Ten Landscape Architecture students of Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying, UTM were selected to join Sakura Science Program (SSP) exchange program invited by Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) from 3rd to 7th November 2019. Students are given a great opportunity to experiences through a collaborative international workshop with the students from Tokyo City University (TCU), Faculty of Urban Life Studies. The outcomes of this program have exposed UTM students to outbound mobility, experiential learning well as culture exchanged. Besides, this fruitful program provides a good platform to expand MOU networking with Tokyo City University in research and academic.
In conjunction with the Johor Landscape Day 2019 which is a nationwide annual celebration, FABU UTM has collaborate with the National Landscape Department (NLD), Johor Landscape Department (JLD), Institute of Landscape Architects Malaysia (ILAM), and Asia Cultural Landscape Association (ACLA) successfully organised the ACLA Conference 2019 on 9th to 10th October 2019 at Fraser Place Puteri Harbour, Johor.
RISM Career Talk is an annual event by RISM jointly organised with Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying for Geomatics & Land Surveying, Property Surveying and Quantity Surveying 1st year students of Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying. The talk was held on 15th October 2019 at Convention Hall, FABU.
Landscape Architecture Program, Faculty of Built Environment & Surveying, UTM Collaborate With Tokyo City University (TCU), Japan for the 2nd UTM-TCU Joint Workshop 2019 that was held from 26th to 29th August 2019. The joint workshop theme namely “Landscape Design Attraction for Heritage City in South-East Asia: Exploring Natural and Heritage Landscape was coordinated by Dr Lee Yoke Lai, senior lecturer at Faculty of Built Environment & Surveying, UTM.
