UTM Kuala Lumpur welcomed Ningxia Finance & Economics Vocational College, China consisting of Vice President and Dean of Schools from Academic Affairs, Information Technology, Finance & Business and English Language on 28 June 2019. This is their first visit to Malaysia.
Ningxia Finance & Economics Vocational College which was established in 1958, is one of the public colleges in China and receives funds from the government. It is looking forward to the collaboration opportunities opened by UTM.
Their arrival was welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nor Zairah Ab. Rahim from Razak Faculty Technology and Informatics who chaired the welcoming reception of the visit, and attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sophiyati Yuhaniz, School of Graduate Studies and Dr. Nor Hidayati Zakaria from Azman Hashim International Business School.
Dr. Nor Zairah initiated a briefing on UTM and then opened for discussion between the two universities. Before coming to UTM, the delegations had earlier visited four other universities in Kuala Lumpur. They were excited to be able to visit UTM and indeed looking for opportunities to collaborate in the various fields offered.
UTM talked about opportunities for a double degree, remote supervision, staff attachment, student exchange, short-term English courses for staff and collaboration in research.
UTM also welcome the idea if Ningxia Finance & Economics Vocational College wants to tie an agreement with UTM, while at the same time making plans to hold cooperative activities together as an initial collaboration.
