JOHOR BAHRU, 12 April 2017 – Faculty of Built environment (FAB), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) won Silver Medal Award at Invention, Innovation and Design (IID) competition held on 9th March 2017 at Amansari Residence Resort, Johor Bahru Malaysia.

IID competition was first mooted by the Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) main campus in Shah Alam in an effort to promote innovations in all faculties and campuses as feeders for participations at the university level Invention, Innovation and Design Exposition (IIDEX).

IID Johor was first organised in compliance with this requirement from the Research Innovation Business Unit (RIBU).

Nurshikin Mohamad Shukery who has developed A Flexible Multi-Criteria Integrated Performance-based Decision Making: A Prototype, won Silver Medal Award under Professional Level for Social Sciences category.

The research has developed a significant tool for contractor selection, by helping organizations to select a competent contractor and decreasing the subjectivity of the decision-making process.

The advantage as gave by the system favour a reliable indicator to predict performance of construction project by selecting a contractor based on his best performance.

The team members were also participated in the IIID Johor 2017 were Dr. Hamizah Liyana Tajul Ariffin, Dr. Nafisah Abdul Rahiman and Syamsul Hendra Mahmud.
