UTM Johor Bahru Campus, 28 Feb 2015 – Green Day is a great time to plan fun, educational, and action-oriented activities. This was exactly what Kolej Perdana students did on the morning of 28 February 2015. As early as 7.30am, committee members of the Green Day Programme and students of Kolej Perdana met at ‘Dataran U4’.
The programme was kicked-start by a Zumba exercise session led by Kolej Perdana own students, namely, Zahid and Linda. Zumba was chosen as it not only lowers inhibitions, but it also promotes better coordination.
Following a light breakfast of curry puff and cold drinks, participants were then divided into 7 groups. Each group was assigned a specific task like picking up litter and sweeping dry leaves around Kolej Perdana residential blocks, building a BBQ-pit, repainting lines on the futsal court and painting murals along the walls of the stairs at ‘Dataran U4’
The activities were conducted in the spirit of supporting a clean, safe and conducive learning environment. Students also experienced first-hand how to achieve specific aims through teamwork and collaboration.
It is hoped that future activities will receive full support from all Kolej Perdana residents.
