JOHOR BAHRU, 25 June – A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Stealth Broadband Sdn. Bhd. to develop a Radio Fiber Network.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Datuk Ir. Dr. Wahid Omar signed on behalf of UTM while Dato’ Amirul Hisyam Alias, Managing Director of Stealth Broadband Sdn. Bhd. represented his company at the signing ceremony held at the Main Meeting Room (BMU), Sultan Ibrahim Chancellery Building, Johor Bahru campus.
Such cooperation is intended to provide a telecommunication network infrastructure to UTM staff and students using Radio over Fiber (ROF) Network technology.
Prof. Datuk Ir. Dr. Wahid Omar who was met after the signing ceremony said that this partnership is a timely alliance.
“Stealth Broadband Sdn. Bhd. will develop telecommunication infrastructure networks that  will provide wide coverage of radio signal and bandwidth required by the UTM community, while UTM will develop network applications such as Smart Environment, Smart Grid, Smart Living and others,” he said.
UTM will also provide the expertise needed to develop application in the network infrastructure provided by Stealth Broadband.
It is hoped that this bilateral cooperation will be able to meet the expanding needs of telecommunication network infrastructure in UTM.
