Dr Zaini Ujang welcoming the new Polish Ambassador to Malaysia, His Excellency Professor Dr. Adam W.Jelonek on his visit to UTM.
Johor Bahru, 10 March 2011 : UTM had the honour to welcome the visit by the new Polish Ambassador to Malaysia, His Excellency Professor Dr. Adam W.Jelonek. His Excellency was accompanied by Mr Robert Andrzejczyk, First Secretary of Economic Affairs.
The visit marks the beginning of cordial relations between UTM and the Polish Embassy with a view to strengthening cooperation and collaboration in areas of mutual interest between UTM and Polish universities.
At present, a few twinning programmes have already been established between Polish Universities and a few universities in Malaysia like UCSI, a private higher learning institution.
The Polish Ambassador looks forward to increasing the number of exchange students and staff from UTM with partner institutions in Poland while at the same time enhancing the possibility of developing cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Plans are already in the pipeline for the Dean of Business School, Warsaw University to visit the UTM International Business School (IBS) in Kuala Lumpur when he comes to Malaysia in the near future.
The UTM Vice Chancellor briefed the Ambassador on the programmes offered by the faculties and research alliance groups.
The Ambassador also highlighted that Polish Universities are strong in the field of medicine. The UTM Vice Chancellor highlighted that engagement in a related field namely Biomedical Engineering would be a potential area of collaboration.
The Ambassador was also informed that one of the focus of the IBS is offering MBA in Healthcare.Healthcare.
