KUALA LUMPUR, 10 May – Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Keele University, United Kingdom formalised their partnership by signing a Letter of Intent (LoI), marking a significant milestone in their collaboration. The LoI aims at reaching mutual understanding with the ultimate goal of formalising an official Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UTM and Keele University.
The exchange ceremony took place in conjunction with the Launching of Faculty of Artificial Intelligence (FAI) at the World Trade Centre (WTC), Kuala Lumpur, bringing together key figures from both organisations including Prof. Datuk Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Fauzi Ismail, UTM Vice-Chancellor, representing UTM and Prof. Trevor McMillan, Vice-Chancellor of Keele University representing Keele University.
Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar, Chairman UTM Board of Directors, Prof. Dr. Mohd Shafry bin Mohd Rahim, UTM Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & Internationalisation), Dr. Mohd Ariffin Abu Hassan, Director UTM International, Prof. Anthonius Raghubansie, Pro-Vice Chancellor International, Keele University and Prof. Raphael Hirschi, Keele University was also present to witness the exchange ceremony.
Keele University is part of the Turing Institute UK University network. The Turing University Network provides all UK universities with an interest in data science and AI the opportunity to engage and collaborate both with the Institute and its broader networks. At present, the network has a membership of 65 universities from across the UK.
