Webinar on “Tips on Constructing an Excellent Review Paper” was successfully conducted on the 25^th July 2021 through a live stream on the Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Facebook page and Webex platform.

This webinar was directed by Dr. Nur Hidayah Ahmad and assisted by all the staff from the Advanced Optical Materials Research Group (AOMRG), Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, UTM and UTM MASS Chapter.

This webinar was an activity held between Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). This webinar can provide opportunities for students and staff to improve the publication of high-impact research articles, especially on review article papers. This webinar was the place to collect and combine the research ideas from three universities besides generating research collaboration or networking among lecturers, staff and students in the future.

This webinar recorded 415 participantsfrom different countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Nigeria, Iraq, Yamen and Bangladesh. It involved 21 different universities, where 97 of them were undergraduate and postgraduate students and 86 of them were UTM staff. Apart from that, a total of 114  UTM alumni had joined the webinar.

Prof. Dr. Azizan Ahmad from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Prof. Dr. Rizalman Mamat from Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) were the representative speakers of the webinar. Prof. Dr. Azizan Ahmad gave a talk titled “Tips on Constructing an Excellent Review Paper”. Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Rizalman Mamat shared “Tips on How to tackle the reviewer to accept the review paper”.

Based on the webinar,the speakers shared lots of knowledge, experience and tips to produce a good review paper through efficient, easy and fast methods.

Besides, several case studies were also shared to motivate participants to continue writing consistently despite facing some failures or rejections. From the sharing, the participants asked multiple questions regarding the review paper that was answered well and clarified by the speaker, with the added value of understanding to others.

Through the new norm of the pandemic, writing research articles is a must, need, compulsory especially for students and researchers for the sake of continuity of learning and also for the key performance indicator (KPI). As such, the program had injected enthusiasm with guides and references shared concisely and comprehensively.

In conclusion, the webinar went well as planned. This webinar gives opportunities to create more outstanding review articles. Both speakers successfully delivered the speech with excellence.
