On 30 May 2021, Global Buddies (GB) & Global Education Experience (GEE), UTM International had successfully organized a photo and video competition called “MCO Moment Sharing Competition” to encourage students to creatively share their experiences during lockdown. The program was directed by Nik Amalia Nazirah Mohd Rafidi with the main theme of “Blessing In Disguise”.
The program involved the use of Instagram platform and Google Form for registration. This is the first “MCO Moment Sharing Competition” that GB & GEE had organized. The program had divided into two which were photo and video categories. Both categories had required participants to register and submit their masterpiece from 30 May till 4 June 2021.
To date, the program had received 38 participants overall which most of them were UTM local students and 15 others were UTM International students. There were 29 entries for the photo category and 20 entries for the video category. All of the participants were honored with E-Certification and UTM Merit.
The theme of ‘Blessing In Disguise’ means anything bad and misfortune that turns out to be a good thing. With the theme, the participants from UTM had shared their good moments during Movement Control Order (MCO) despite all the difficulties and hardships that they faced since the COVID-19 pandemic hits Malaysia.
There were five winners for each category with the highest prize of RM250.00 (photo category) and RM400.00 (video category). The winners’ details as per below:
