JOHOR BAHRU, 10 March – Several Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) academic subjects were listed as Top Subjects by world’s leading provider of services, analytics and insight to the global higher education sector, the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Ranking.
The classification included the No. 1 in Malaysia and Top In the World Top which include the Top 50,100 and 150.
The Architecture course from the Faculty of Architecture and Surveying (FABU), and Civil and Structural offered by the Faculty of Engineering were listed as no. one in Malaysia. Such an interesting fact that UTM was chosen even though the same subjects were offered by several other public universities.
Speaking about the global reputations, the UTM Petroleum Engineering subject was listed as Top 50 in the world. Petroleum engineering involves a wide range of activities related to field exploration, development, production and abandonment of oil and gas resources.
The good reputation continues as four UTM Engineering and one Architectural subjects were listed as the Top 100. These subjects are Architecture (FABU) and four engineering subjects that are Civil and Structural, Chemical, Electrical and Electronics, and Mineral and Mining.
UTM also has carved a unique history as its Mechanical Engineering subjects such as Aeronautical and Manufacturing were also listed as Top World 150 by this World University Ranking institutions. The recognition by global and local institutions proved UTM as one of the best universities among Malaysians and people from abroad.
