Sign Language Day 2020 (SLD’20) is a program organized by Student Residential College Committee through Google Meet platform from 4 to 5 December 2020. The program conducted was in collaboration with #SIGNON: Malaysian Sign Language to educate UTM community on sign language as well as attract more participants.

The program focused on developing a sign language class and a group activity based on what participants have learned during its class. There was also an online group project such as filming a short and simple video in sign language which will be posted on ktdi4utm’s Instagram to encourage participants to apply their recently acquired skills.

Low self-esteem is a common problem faced by the disabled community. Thus, the program was hoped to raise awareness regarding the impaired hearing community rights and how to make them feel welcome in general.
