Razak Faculty signed Letter of Intent (LOI) with the Swiss-ASEAN Learning and Teaching (SALT) Association

UTMKL – Razak Faculty of Technology and Informatics (RFTI), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, had signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with the Swiss-ASEAN Learning and Teaching (SALT) Association during the Board Meeting and AGM at UTM Kuala Lumpur on 8 October 2019. The SALT Association is a non-governmental and non-profit association, which aims to promote the sharing of researching, learning, and teaching knowledge among academics, researchers, and practitioners in Europe and ASEAN through strategic collaborations. The network was established in Olten, Switzerland, on 27 May 2016, and UTM is both its board member and founding member. The LOI was signed by the Dean of RFTI, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Astuty Amrin and Chairman of SALT Association, Prof. Dr. Rolf Schaeren, strengthening the partnership between UTM and the network to enhance research collaboration and promotion of academic programmes in the areas of science, technology and innovation.

A total of 10 international delegates were present from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern (FHNW), Switzerland; San Beda University (SBU), Philippines; Banking University (BUH), Vietnam; University of Economics HCMC (UEH), Vietnam; and Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Indonesia. Also present during the meetings were Prof. Emeritus Dato’ Ir Dr. Zainai Mohamed, SALT Advisory Board; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Ismid Mohd Said, UTM Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Norhayati Abdullah, UTM International Associate Director; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nor Zairah Ab. Rahim, RFTI Assistant Dean and Dr. Mohamad Syazli Fathi, Chairman for Connect-Us Conference 2019. The AKEPT Director, Prof. Dr. Nordin Yahaya, who has been a valuable member of the network, was also present during the dinner to extend a warm welcome to the international delegates.
