KUALA LUMPUR ,16 May: Collaboration signing ceremony between Iskandar Regional Decelopment Authority (IRDA), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and TRC – Marditech Consortium was held at the Prime Minister’s Office .

IRDA officiated a strategic alliance and joint collaboration between UTM and TRC – Marditech Consortium to cooperate in the various areas of research, development and the promotion of Iskandar Malaysia Halal Technology Hub (IMHTH).

The ceremony was signed by Prof. Datuk Ismail Ibrahim, Chief Executive of IRDA, Prof. Ir. Dr. Wahid bin Omar, Vice Chancellor UTM and Dato’ Sri Sufri bin Hj Mohd Zin, Executive Chairman of TRC Synergy Bhd. The Prime Minister , Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak was witnessed the signing ceremony.

In line with IRDA’s goal to achieve international standing, the federal body seeks to tap on UTM and TRC – Marditech Consortium expertise in areas of research, halal sciences, products and services through various development strategies in the Halal Industries. The collaboration will also identify and develop joint projects related to Halal.

The three-year collaboration is yet another step to develop the IMHTH and linkages to other Halal hubs and research institutions within this region and globally that will result in synergy and mutual benefits.
