UTMFAI-DPIM’s AIBEx Program Empowers Entrepreneur to Elevate Brand Visibility Through AI

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 1 – The AI for Business Excellence (AIBEx) initiative, jointly organized by the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence (FAI), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and the Dewan Perdagangan Islam Malaysia (DPIM), continues to showcase how artificial intelligence (AI) can transform microbusinesses. Among the many inspiring participants is Vinod Kumar, founder of Dazzling Delights Bakehouse, a homegrown food and beverage (F&B) brand known for its artisanal cakes and pastries.

Vinod attended the AIBEx session held at Bangi Convention Centre on 26 June 2025, one of a series of nationwide programs that have also been conducted at UTM Kuala Lumpur, Wisma BSN Kuala Lumpur, and Kuantan, Pahang. As of November 2025, AIBEx has reached over 700 participants. The program is now being expanded nationwide, with advanced follow-up programs planned to deepen participants’ skills in applied AI for business growth.

From Traditional to Tech-Driven

“Before AIBEx, I mostly just snapped photos of my products and uploaded them directly to social media,” Vinod shared.

“After learning about AI tools like ChatGPT, CapCut, Microsoft Copilot, and Google Gemini 2, I realised how much more creative and professional my content could be.”

Boosting Productivity and Creativity

Since the program, Vinod uses AI three to four times a week, creating promotional videos, designing posters, and generating engaging captions. He credits these tools for helping him refine his brand identity and connect better with customers online. His posts have drawn strong engagement, even earning him a TikTok notification of recognition for high-performing content.

Enhancing Brand Visibility and Market Reach

The digital boost also translated into tangible business gains. Vinod reported a 10–30% increase in sales and improved brand visibility, which led to a new partnership to supply his products and customer-driven recommendations through social media.

“Generative AI makes my brand look more professional,” he said.

“Even though I don’t have a tech background, I can experiment with prompts and images until I find the best results. It feels like having a creative partner.”

AI as a Business and Creative Partner

Beyond marketing, Vinod also uses AI as a brainstorming companion for developing new recipes and menu ideas — turning generative AI into both a creative and business ally. He described the learning curve as exciting and empowering:

Post Program Interview

“AIBEx gave me the confidence to explore. I used to see AI as complicated, but now I see it as something that helps small business owners like me work smarter.”

Expressing his appreciation, Vinod thanked UTM and DPIM for organizing AIBEx.

Through sharing like Vinod’s, UTM–FAI and DPIM continue synergistically to demonstrate their national leaderships in inclusive AI education, fostering innovation that bridges academic expertise with entrepreneurial practice, and enabling Malaysian entrepreneurs to thrive in the digital economy.
