GURGAON, INDIA – Six distinguished delegates from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia’s (UTM) Faculty of Science made a significant impact at the International Conference on Technological Innovation in Multidisciplinary Engineering and Sciences (TIMES2024), held on August 6 and 7, 2024, at The NorthCap University (NCU). This year, the conference focused on advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its role in revolutionizing various scientific and engineering disciplines.

The UTM delegation included Dr. Nurhafizah Hasim, Dr. Ahmad Qushairi Mohamad, Dr. Nur Izzati Mohd Noh, Dr. Noraihan Afiqah Rawi, Dr. Mohd Fuad Mohamad, and Dr. Norshahirah Mohamad Saidi. Notably, Dr. Nurhafizah Hasim, Dr. Ahmad Qushairi Mohamad, and Dr. Nur Izzati Mohd Noh served as plenary speakers, presenting UTM’s groundbreaking research on the integration of AI in fields such as advanced materials and sustainable technologies.

TIMES2024 gathered researchers from around the world to explore how AI is driving innovations in engineering, optimizing scientific processes, and addressing multidisciplinary challenges. UTM’s active participation showcased its commitment to leveraging AI for cutting-edge research and development.

In addition to their conference presentations, the UTM delegation visited NCU’s state-of-the-art research facilities during a guided campus tour. They explored AI-driven laboratories and infrastructure, facilitating discussions on potential collaborative ventures, particularly in AI, nanotechnology, and renewable energy.

The conference also underscored the continuing partnership between UTM and NCU, reinforced by the renewal of their five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) earlier this year. The MoU supports joint research initiatives, faculty and student exchanges, and collaborative advancements in emerging technologies, including AI.

UTM’s participation in TIMES2024 and the NCU tour further solidified the bond between the two institutions, paving the way for future AI-driven collaborations and global academic innovation.
