Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) has become the first International Society of Automation (ISA) Student Section in Malaysia. UTM ProVice-Chancellor, Prof. Ts. Dr. Abd Latif bin Saleh, has received the certificate of appreciation on behalf of UTM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Datuk Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Fauzi Ismail from ISA Malaysia President, Tn. Hj. Ir. Sharul A. Rashid in conjunction with ISA Tech Talk 2022 at Sheraton Imperial Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
ISA is a non-profit professional association that sets the standard for those who work in automation and control. The association also provide opportunities with relevant technological advancements, conferences and training programs which enhance skills and capabilities to be certified as a professional recognized by worldwide. UTM as a frontier university in engineering and automation technology in Malaysia, believe with the formation of the first ISA-UTM Student Section in Malaysia will be an impactful initiative to ISA members.
“This ISA-UTM Student Section will be the first platform in Malaysia to enhance the collaboration between universities and the industries. The ISA representative at UTM is Prof. Ir. Dr. Sevia Mahdaliza Idrus and her committee has actively contributed to ISA activities on promoting university and industry collaboration in automation and bridging the gap between the workforce and academics”, said the President of ISA Malaysia and PETRONAS Group Technical Authority, Instrument and Control, Tn. Hj. Ir. Sharul A. Rashid.
