JOHOR BAHRU, 22 Sept – Two Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) academicians and researchers have been appointed as the External Expert Committee Members and Minerals and aggregates Guidelines (GDG) and Sustainable Environment Committee of the Land Department, Ministry of Development of State of Brunei Darussalam.
The two academicians were Dr Salfarina Samsudin and Dr Robiah Suratman, both currently serving as Senior Lecturers at School of Real Estate, Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying at Johor Bahru main campus.

Dr. Salfarina Samsudin was appointed as External Expert Committee Member of Strata Act Chapter 189 Laws of Brunei and Strata Development Committee with the task to look at external comparative best practices and knowledge in the said area.
The Land Department is currently in the process of reviewing and updating the Brunei Darussalam Strata Act Chapter 189 and related policies governing Strata Development in that particular country.

The state of Brunei appointment also went to Dr Robiah Suratman where she was appointed as GDG and Sustainable Environment Committee with the task of reviewing and updating the minerals and aggregates guidelines and sustainable committee which stand in the jurisdiction of the Lands Department, Ministry of Development of Brunei Darussalam.
Both Dr Salfarina and Dr Robiah appointment were for the period of two years effective from December 1st 2019 until 1st December 2021. The letters of appointment were being signed by Acting Land Commissioner of State of Brunei Darussalam, Dayang Norzanah Haji Hambali.
