JOHOR BAHRU, 15 November 2016 – Pensioners are invited to share their experience and skills with new staff of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) as to ensure that the UTM ‘DNA’ that long produced these pensioners do not disappear along with their retirement from university service.
The call was stated by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Internationalization), Prof. Dr. Rose Alinda Alias, who represented the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Datuk Ir. Dr. Wahid Omar in Majlis Sanjungan Budi 2016 held at Dewan Sultan Iskandar, Johor Bahru campus this morning.

Nor, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof. Dr. Mohd Fauzi Ismail, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Prof. Dr. Mohd. Ismail Abd. “Whether we realize it or not, every individual who works as a salaried worker in a government or private sector would have to go through the retirement one day.
“The difference between us all is how we accept the reality of retirement. If we maintain a positive outlook, retirement will not cause problems but instead give us more leisure due for having much more time for the family and ourselves, “she said.
Prof. Rose also urged retirees to give attention to aspects of health care in order to enjoy retirement with more natural means.
“At this level, we will be easily to be infected with all kinds of diseases if we happen to underestimate the issue of healthcare. Hence, it is important for us all to be able to spend a little time to keep physically and mentally fit,” he said.
