CYBERJAYA, Apr 9 – Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), through its Faculty of Artificial Intelligence (FAI), further expanded its strategic industry network by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ultrack Technology Sdn. Bhd., also known as TrackerHero, in a ceremony held at the TrackerHero Office, Cybersquare, Cyberjaya.
The MoU reflects the commitment of both institutions to strengthening technological development and innovation in the field of artificial intelligence through a strategic collaboration that leverages their respective expertise for the benefit of the academic, research, and industrial communities.
Representing UTM at the ceremony were Dean of FAI, Prof. Ts. Dr. Mohd Naz’ri Mahrin; Deputy Dean (Research, Development and Innovation), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Roslina Ibrahim, Manager of External and Global Engagement, Dr. Noor Hafizah Hassan, Research Manager, Dr. Mohd Azri Mohd Izhar, Research Manager, together with Senior Lecturer, Dr. Normaisharah Mamat and Dr. Noor Jannah Zakaria.
TrackerHero was represented by its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Muhammad Izzat Hanif Ishak; Chief Operating Officer (COO), Mohd Afiq Hazman Ishak, together with several members of the company’s staff.

TrackerHero is an innovative company that develops AI-based platforms designed to accelerate digital transformation and operational excellence in smart city environments. By integrating advanced analytics, automation, and real-time monitoring, the company enhances the management of security, workforce operations, and assets.
Through this MoU, both parties aim to strengthen research and innovation, foster a stronger university-industry ecosystem, and support the pursuit of excellence in global research and innovation, particularly in artificial intelligence (AI). The collaboration will also include various activities that benefit students, such as seminars, workshops, and other academic and professional development programmes related to AI.
Prof. Ts. Dr. Mohd Naz’ri Mahrin said the partnership represents an important step in bridging academia and industry to create a meaningful impact for the nation. “This partnership bridges the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence, UTM, and industry to drive Malaysia’s digital transformation through advanced AI safety and security innovation,” he said.

In addition to the signing session, the ceremony also featured a discussion on the strategic direction of the collaboration, focusing on potential joint initiatives in research, innovation, talent development, and industry engagement. The visit also provided an opportunity for the UTM delegation to observe TrackerHero’s products and solutions, further opening avenues for future collaboration in applied AI technologies.
The three-year agreement is expected to serve as a platform for long-term cooperation between UTM and TrackerHero, while contributing to the advancement of AI knowledge, innovation, and real-world applications that can benefit society and industry alike.
