A Shared Dream, Two Paths, One Proud Moment: The Ng Twins’ Graduation Story

JOHOR BAHRU, 18 Nov. – Growing up side by side, Alan Ng Sheng Lun and his twin brother, Jack Ng Sheng Jie, have always shared more than just a birthday. They shared dreams, challenges, and a commitment to uplift one another. Today, that lifelong bond reaches a remarkable milestone as both brothers graduate with honours from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), each charting his own path yet walking this final stage together.

Alan completed his degree in Chemical and Energy Engineering with an impressive CGPA of 3.88, while Jack, from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, proudly graduated with a CGPA of 3.92. Their academic transcripts reflect years of discipline and dedication, earning both of them well-deserved spots on the Dean’s List.

But their journey at UTM has been more than academic achievement. The brothers embraced university life to the fullest, actively joining co-curricular activities and even securing 2nd Runner-Up in the badminton tournament organised by ISS Yemen UTM this year.
These experiences, they say, shaped their character and strengthened their teamwork beyond the classroom.

What makes their achievement even more meaningful is the fact that Alan and Jack are the first in their family to pursue tertiary education. Their success represents not only personal triumph but also a new chapter of hope for their younger siblings.

“We want to be a source of inspiration for them to show that with determination and hard work, higher education is within reach, and no dream is too distant,” they shared.

Despite studying in different engineering fields, their greatest strength has always been each other. From late-night study encouragement to navigating the pressures of university life, they carried one another through every high and low.

Proud moments with the people who matter most

“Since day one, we supported one another academically and emotionally. Our paths were different, but our goal was the same: to give our best,” they said.

As they prepare to step onto the convocation stage, the moment carries deep emotional weight. It signifies years of shared resilience, two brothers growing, struggling, and succeeding side by side.

“This graduation means so much to us. It symbolises our journey as twins who have worked hard together, pushed each other forward, and now stand proudly together as UTM graduates,” they reflected. “We are deeply grateful to our parents and lecturers for their endless support.”
