KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 19 — The Malaysia–Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Kuala Lumpur, had the honour of receiving a courtesy visit from two distinguished Members of the House of Councillors of Japan — Keisuke Yamamoto from the Liberal Democratic Party and Maiko Tajima from the Constitutional Democratic Party. Their visit was part of an ongoing effort to strengthen the long-standing diplomatic and educational ties between Malaysia and Japan, particularly in the fields of technology, innovation, and higher education.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Shamsul Sahibuddin, representing UTM. She shared how MJIIT serves as a bridge for collaboration between Malaysian and Japanese industries and universities, contributing significantly to human capital development and technological advancement in the region.
During the session, Maiko Tajima expressed her admiration for MJIIT’s commitment and growth over the years. Her words underscored the mutual respect and shared aspirations that form the foundation of this bilateral relationship.

After the meeting, the delegation toured several facilities within MJIIT, including the Algae Laboratory, where they were briefed on ongoing research initiatives. The guests interacted with researchers and discussed future prospects for joint research, innovation, and academic exchange programs.
